Title: Film Screening and Panel Discussion by Director, Rehana Mirza on Hiding Divya
Date: Fri. Mar 01, 2013
Time: 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Description:

The Center for India Studies in collaboration with PEHCHAAN of Tampa Bay presents a film screening of Hiding Divya which highlights the taboo of mental illness in the South Asian community. This event will include a discussion, followed by a Q&A session with the director of the film, Rehana Mirza. This film provides a rare, realistic and poignant glimpse into the lives of three generations of women. Combining the deft humor of Mirza's award-winning shorts with the philosophical twists of her acclaimed stage plays, Hiding Divya tells a story of denial, shame, guilt and, most of all, love.
