Title: Promoting Collaboration and International Partnerships to Combat and Mitigate Human Trafficking
Date: Wed. Oct 01, 2014
Time: 8:30 AM - 9:00 AM
Description:

The Institute for the Study of Latin America and the Caribbean (in partnership with Southern Command in Doral, Florida) has designed this conference as a series of shared conversations between different constituencies on both labor and sex trafficking as well as international and domestic trafficking. The idea is to discuss international collaboration and strategies to combat and mitigate human trafficking. The conference features moderated panel discussions between representatives of: domestic and international NGO’s, law enforcement, government agencies (local, state, federal, and international), the military and academia. The themes explored through this series of moderated discussions are: public awareness, services for victims, data collection, epidemiology, applied technologies, and prosecutions among other topics.

The opening keynote address by General John F. Kelly, Commander of the United States Southern Command will take place at 2:30pm in the Auditorium of the Patel Center (Center for Global Solutions). The conference will continue October 2 - 3, 2014 in MSC 3709.
