Title: Education Abroad Information Session: Costa Rica
Date: Mon. Oct 06, 2014
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Description:

Attend the Costa Rica Language and Geology Summer 2015 information session to learn how you can travel to San Jose and spend the summer enhancing your Spanish language skills, while immersed in a unique culture.  Students attend classes at the language institute in San Pedro, situated in the suburbs of San Jose, and close to museums, parks, a variety of cafes, restaurants, and shopping. Students will learn how geology shapes the landscape of Costa Rica, and the tug-of-war between three forces: volcanism and tectonic compression, which builds it up, and stream erosion, which wears it down. This program will focus on how the unique geology of Costa Rica has helped shape its environment, both physical and cultural. USF instructor Tom Juster will lead the program in summer 2015.
