The Chinese Bridge Competition is an annual event where Florida college and high school students compete in Chinese language and culture proficiency and perform a talent. The competition is designed for non-heritage speakers of Mandarin Chinese (Chinese is not spoken in their families); therefore, heritage speakers are not eligible. The winner in each group moves on the next round for the regional competition on Sunday, April 26, in Dallas TX (The finalists from the regional competition will go to China for the International Chinese Bridge Competition during the summer. Travel costs for the final winners are covered by the sponsor). Interested students should apply through their Chinese language teachers, so they can receive the necessary mentoring before the competition. Please note that the deadline to submit completed application form is Monday March 9, 2015. There is no cost for participation, and lunch will be provided to participants and their mentor teachers. If your Chinese teacher does not have the application form, please request one by e-mailing us at Chinese@usf.edu or download it here.
