The second annual "Confucius Institute Day" is a celebration of Chinese cultures with performances and hands-on activities. September 28 this year will be the 2556th birth day of Confucius, a great philosopher and teacher. Everyone from USF and the Tampa Bay community is welcome to attend this special event. The event includes cultural performances, mini-Chinese language and singing lessons, martial art workshop, and hands-on activities. Participants will receive a bookmark, snack and water, but lunch is on your own.
President Genshaft will officially open the celebration at 10:00 a.m. at the Marshall Student Center Ballroom. The teachers will be honored as this is the Teacher's Day (official holiday) in Mainland China and Taiwan.
