Description: Satan and Demons in Ancient Israel Dr. Adolfo Roitman Curator and Director of The Shrine of the Book, Jerusalem, Israel Dr. Roitman has served as curator and director of The Shrine of the Book since 1994, which was erected as part of Jerusalems Israel Museum in 1965 for the preservation and exhibition of the Dead Sea Scrolls. He is a world-renowned expert in ancient Jewish thought. He is author of A Day at Qumran: The Dead Sea Sect and Its Scrolls; The Sectarians from Qumran: Daily Life of the Essenes; and Envisioning the Temple: Scrolls, Stones and Symbols. Currently writing a fourth book on the Apocryphal book of Judith, Roitman has contributed numerous articles and chapters to professional journals, encyclopedias and books. Ordained as a Rabbi in 1986 by the Latin-American Rabbinical Seminar in his native Argentina, Roitman holds a Masters Degree in Anthropological Sciences from the University of Buenos Aires, a degree in Comparative Religion from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Doctors Degree in Ancient Jewish Thought from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
