The Qingming (meaning "Pure Brightness," also known as Tomb-Sweeping Day) is a traditional Chinese festival to honor ancestors and deseased family members. It usually falls on the 15th day after the Spring Equinox, either on April 4 or 5 in a given year. Other common translations include Chinese Memorial Day and Ancestors' Day. Qingming is a public holiday in Mainland China and Taiwan.
The event includes a short info session and interactive activities about the Chinese way of honoring ancestors. Tea/bottle water and cookies will be provided. Everyone is invited to this free event at 4 - 5 p.m. on April 5 (Tuesday) at the Chinese Cultural Center located at the Architecture Building, #214.
