Title: Undergraduate Student Document Check
Date: Wed. Aug 09, 2017
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM

This document check is for undergraduate students, either First Time in College (FTIC) or Transfer (all visa types.)

Document Check is the process by which an international advisor (DSO) checks that all of your immigration documents show correct status and entry into the US.  You need to complete all of your tasks in iStart, including uploading copies of your immigration documents, to be eligible for Document Check. Once you arrive in the US, you can upload documents to iStart from your electronic device, any university computer, or using the computers at our office in the Patel Center for Global Solutions. For F-1 and J-1 students, Document Check is a face-to-face meeting. For students who are not F-1 or J-1 students, this is only an online procedure. Please make sure to carefully read and complete ALL Post-Arrival E-Forms BEFORE attending Document Check. If you have trouble completing an E-form, ask for help before you sign in for Document Check.

Document Check Tips:

  • Bring all of your immigration documents with you to Document Check.
  • Come to our office during walk-in hours for assistance with uploading documents or completing any e-form.
  • Make sure you have signed and uploaded your newest I-20, I-94, and POE stamp in the appropriate E-Form. INTO to USF Change of Level and Tansfer students should upload their new USF degree seeking I-20.
  • Enter your address in OASIS as soon as possible, even if it’s a temporary address.  This includes a hotel address or a friend’s address. You can update the address once you find a permanent place.
  • Graduate and INTO to USF Change of Level Students: RSVP to the Document Check session you plan to attend to guarantee you will be seen.
  • Wait times vary depending on how many students come to each session. Plan to stay for the duration of the scheduled Document Check session.

If students need assistance with scanning and uploading their documents, they can visit the Office of International Services during working hours, weekdays 8am – 5pm. For online assistance, go to the Document Imaging webpage. For more information or to review detailed steps needed to complete the orientation process, please visit the Document Check and Immigration Information Sessions page of our website.
