Is the future of Antarctica in hot water? Understanding the warm past to predict future change

Imogen Browne is a Fulbright student from New Zealand and is pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of South Florida, College of Marine Science in St. Petersburg. Her research focuses on understanding the influence of ocean heat on Antarctic ice sheet stability over geologic timescales. Ocean warming is linked to Antarctic ice mass loss which leads to global sea level rise. Imogen recently participated on a two-month International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) expedition to the Ross Sea, Antarctica. The aim of this expedition was to recover marine sediment core records spanning millions of years in order to understand past Antarctic ice sheet history.

7:00 to 7:15 PM - We will welcome our visiting Fulbright Students and visiting Fulbright Scholars and recognize both returning Fulbright Alumni and those who applied for Fulbrights for 2019-2020.
