Title: The USF Choirs host Sylvester Otieno Ogama of Kenyatta University

The USF Choirs have performed a “Black Composer Concert” for two consecutive years in February. This year we will be bringing in Sylvester Otieno Ogama, the Chairman of the Kenya Federation of Choral Music and Director of Choirs at Kenyatta University in Nairobi. This renowned clinician and conductor also composes and arranges choral music. He will present daily workshops and masterclasses with the USF Choirs as well as with the composition and ethnomusicology students. He will also rehearse several of his works with the USF choirs that will be performed on February 22, 2018. During his stay in the U.S., Mr. Otieno will be working with other choral programs, such as Florida State University Choirs, Festival Singers of Florida, and an Honor Choir with Orange County Public Schools.
