Title: Study Abroad Information Session: USF Summer in India & Little Tibet, May/June 2004

Description: This is a field study program intended to promote appreciation and understanding of the historical origins and present conditions of Hinduism and Buddhism. The 4-week program begins with one week of class instruction and orientation in Tampa before arriving in India. This program will include on-site lectures and discussions on the history and philosophy of Hinduism and Buddhism, women in monastic life, and the role of women in Hinduism. Highlights of the trip include: * Visiting ancient temples and monasteries * Learning the practice of yoga and meditation * Trekking in the Himalayas * Museums and local cultural activities Courses: Hindu and Buddhist Worlds in India, Nepal and Tibet & Women and Spirituality.
