Description: As part of the Institute on Black Life's Spring 2011 Colloquium Series, Dr. Eric Duke, Assistant Professor in the department of Africana Studies will examine the activism of W.A. Domingo using a variety of archival sources, including organizational records, personal papers, surveillance reports, and contemporary Black periodicals. A Jamaican-born, Black Diaspora activist who lived the majority of his life in Harlem, Domingo will serve as a case study of identity politics within the larger Diaspora struggles of Black peoples in the mid-twentieth century.
