Description: THE DISTINGUISHED LECTURE IN INTER-AMERICAN STUDIES: Beyond Neo-Liberalism: Mass Mobilizations and Political Instability in South America Dr. Carlos Vilas is a well-known political scientist currently performing as a government officer in Argentina. He is author of many books and more than 200 academic articles on Latin American contemporary affairs, political change and revolutionary processes. As a public servant, Dr Vilas was appointed as Under-Secretary for National Security in 2002; and serves in Dr. Nestor Kirchner's government as National Director for the Regulation of the Metropolitan Water System.
