The fourth annual K-12 Chinese conference will be hosted by the USF Confucius Institute, in partnership with the Southeast Chinese Language Association (SECLA) on October 4 (Saturday) at the USF Patel Center, Tampa Campus. The theme for this year is “integrating culture in teaching Chinese language.” The keynote speakers include Dr. Frank (Lixing) Tang of New York University and Dr. Xizhen Qin of USF. In the afternoon break-out sessions, several K-12 teachers will share their strategies and resources, and the administrators will explore areas for collaboration to improve and expand K-12 Chinese programs. Because of the SECLA partnership, there will be significant number of teachers and CI administrators coming from outside of Florida. Welcome to sunny Florida!

There is no registration fee for anyone who is a member of the Chinese Language Teachers Association – Florida (CLTA-FL) or Florida Chinese Teachers Association (FCTA).  (The links to sign up for the membership are provided below.)  The deadline to register for this conference is Friday, September 19. Online registration payment notices will be sent to those coming from outside of Florida, or those who are not CLTA-FL/FCTA members.
