The Confucius Institute is offering three courses in Summer 2008.
- Business Chinese - Basic language instruction for doing business in China

Professor Xiaonong Zhang
This course will offer basic Chinese language skills for doing business in China in addition to basic business customs and practices. The students will have access to a Chinese business environment to practice Chinese. No previous Chinese language background is required. This course is recommended for those who work for a Chinese firm or a U.S. firm dealing with China.
- Chinese Foreign Policy - Roots, patterns and dynamics of Chinese foreign policy and U.S. outreach

This course is designed to help students understand the formation, process, and decision making of Chinese foreign policy. The class also provides an overview of China's foreign relations and role in the global economy, with a focus on U.S./China relations.
- Chinese Language Teaching Methods - Language and skill training for Chinese language teachers
EDG 4909/6931 - 6:00pm-8:20pm M, W, F, June 9 - July 18
Professor Fubo Lu
This course provides rigorous training for Chinese language teachers. This course is part of the Chinese teaching certificates issued by the Confucius Institute and the College of Education. This course requires some previous Chinese language skills.
