The USF Confucius Institute is a partnership between USF and Qingdao University. USF is the first university in Florida and the first major public research university in the Southeastern United States to establish a Confucius Institute in early 2008.

The USF Confucius Institute provides

    • Academic support to the USF Chinese language program and other related disciplines;
    • Community engagement in Tampa Bay to promote cross-cultural understanding through cultural performance and CI Lectures;
    • Outreach to K-12 schools to improve and expand Chinese language programs; and
    • Help to create a statewide network on educational initiatives related to Chinese language and sustainable healthy communities.

USF Student John Klumpp Wins Top Award in the 2018 International Chinese Bridge Competition

The Chinese Bridge Competition is a platform for American and other foreign students to compete in Chinese language proficiency and cultural talent. Each spring, the USF Confucius Institute hosts a local competition for college and high school students. The top winner from both groups travels to the regional competition at UT Dallas. Read More

Right after the Confucius Institute Day event, we celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival on October 2 at the University of South Florida (USF) Marshall Student Center Ballroom. Annual “Confucius Institute Day” Events Completed

The fourth annual “Confucius Institute (CI) Day” celebration was held on September 28 during 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the USF Patel Center for Global Solutions.
