Salary and Appointment Information
- Compensation: Your compensation for instruction and program leadership will be set forth in the Letter of Appointment. Please be aware of the minimum group size and credit hours needed to conduct your program and to appoint you at the same level of compensation as teaching on-campus. In the event of insufficient enrollment/total credit hours needed for your compensation, you may accept a lesser compensation amount in order for the program to be offered; otherwise, the Study Abroad Office will need to withdraw the program, notify students and refund their deposits.
- 12 Month Appointments: Faculty directors on 12 month appointments are not eligible for additional salary compensation.
- Program cancellation: Modification of your employment may occur if: a) the program must be cancelled for reasons beyond the control of the Study Abroad Office. For example, a U.S. State Department Travel Warning is issued for the country where the program will be held, or an outbreak of disease makes the country/program site unsafe. In the event that conditions overseas require the cancellation of a program after it has begun (requiring faculty and students to return to the U.S.), you will receive your summer salary as designated in your letter of appointment; b) a substantial change in program enrollment occurs making the program financially unviable.
