  • Why should I choose USF for my exchange program?

  • How do I begin the application process?
    It is never too early to start planning.  You can find the step-by-step process by visiting the How to Apply page.  You should plan to meet with the coordinator at your Home University and discuss this opportunity to get you started.  You are welcome to contact our office with questions you may have as you make your decision.
  • How long can I stay?
    As an exchange student, you will be able to apply for either 1 or 2 semesters. If you are applying to become a regular admitted student to USF, you should apply through the USF International Admissions Office.

  • How can I find out more about the Tampa Bay Area?

  • What are my housing and dining options on campus?
    The University offers a variety of Housing and Dining options.  Their websites will detail the housing options and well as the many dining options available on campus.and.  Some students find that they would prefer to live off-campus.  We would also suggest some of the nearby apartments if this is preferable to you.  The USF student resource organization has compiled the following website for off-campus housing recommendations:  Off Campus Housing
  • How do I choose my courses and register? 
    You can look up course offerings at: Schedule Search (HINT: your students should select "Tampa" as campus.) You should seek approval from your University for your course requests before submitting them to USF.  You can also look up classes at the following site, although this site is general and will not list the term the course may be available: Course Catalogs.  After you have a list of courses you would like to request, then you should send them to the USF coordinator in Education Abroad, Patricia Smith, psmith@iac.usf.edu
  • Are there ways to get involved in student organizations and find volunteer opportunities? 
    Absolutely!  You are encouraged to get involved in campus life and the multitude of clubs and organizations available.  There is a wide array of volunteer opportunities in and around the Tampa Bay Area and we, along with the Center for Civic Engagement and Volunteerism are here to help find the best fit for you. 
  • Is there a Free Airport Pickup service?
    Yes!  There is a free airport pickup service offered by the Friends of Internationals: A Campus Ministry
  • When does the semester begin and end?
    The best place to find out exactly when you would begin classes, have breaks, and take your final exams is by checking out the Campus Wide Calendar
