International Services

The Office of International Services (OIS) at USF is the main administrative and immigration advising office for more than 5,000 international students and 200 research scholars from over 138 countries.

OIS Services:
  • Advise international students, scholars and staff regarding immigration compliance, visa status maintenance and acculturation issues.
  • Offer workshops on employment, career planning, cultural adjustment and other topics.
  • Develop, plan, conduct and implement orientation programs for new students and scholars.
  • Collaborate with other USF departments to increase the level of understanding regarding immigration issues and the role of International services.
  • Promote cross cultural understanding by working with USF departments and other on campus organizations to plan events and inform students and scholars about upcoming activities, via listserv, email and the International Services website.

Spring 2016 International Student Sash Ceremony

This May the USF System conferred more than 6,500 degrees during six commencement ceremonies held over the course of four days. Of those graduates, more than 400 were international students registered for the Tampa campus. Read More

Gilman Scholars and Freeman Awards Announced
May 3, 2016

This summer 15 University of South Florida (USF) students of more than 1,150 American undergraduate students from 377 colleges and universities across the U.S. were selected to receive the prestigious¬†Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs to study or intern abroad during the summer 2016 academic term. Read More

International Student Association Awarded Across Campus

Ask around on campus and one will notice that intercultural programming, international service and study abroad experience are all part of the core USF student experience.
