International Services

International Services (IS) at USF is the main administrative and immigration advising office for more than 2,600 international students and 200 research scholars from over 138 countries.

  • Offer workshops on employment, career planning, cultural adjustment and other topics.
  • Develop, plan, conduct and implement orientation programs for new students and scholars.
  • Collaborate with other USF departments to increase the level of understanding regarding immigration issues and the role of International services.

USF World Statement Regarding Recent Events in Paris
November 14, 2015

The University of South Florida is deeply saddened by the events in Paris on Friday, November 13. Our sympathies go out to the French people, our French community here at USF and all those who lost loved ones or were shaken by these events. While we are relieved that USF faculty, staff and students in France are unharmed, we recognize that as of Friday night the French nation is under a state of emergency. As of Monday (Nov. 16) morning, France’s businesses, tourist locations, schools and the borders are opening.  However, do plan on experiencing delays as security checks may be increased.

If you are currently traveling abroad and wish to reestablish your travel and security or seek further clarity around your current travel plans, please contact Ben Chamberlain, International Risk and Safety Officer, in USF World who will be an excellent resource for you.

Similarly, we recognize that members of the USF system community may be traveling internationally as the holidays approach and we want to reassure you that USF World monitors world events and maintains a 24/7 International Assistance Line (1-813-317-5815) for your use. You may also choose to contact Ben at and he can assist you in ensuring you have appropriately considered your safety.  As a reminder, please refer to the USF related student and business travel guidelines and services on our website.

Wishing the USF community safe travels,

Roger Brindley, Vice Provost and Associate Vice President, USF World

Andy Dang, student program coordinator for International Services, was one of only 28 recipients this year out of the thousands of possible faculty and staff candidates across the university. Read More
