Advising Hours & Appointments:
International students may see an international student advisor without an appointment, on a first come first–serve basis during Advisor-on-Duty hours.   Advisor-on-Duty meetings are 15 minute meetings.  You may sign up for a slot at the OIS reception desk ½ hour prior to the beginning of Advisor-on-Duty hours.    If you need more than 15 minutes, please contact the reception desk to schedule an appointment.   

Advisor-on-Duty Schedule

Tuesday	9:00 – 11:00am
Thursday	2:00 – 4:00pm
Friday	2:00 – 4:00pm*

*On Fridays when OIS is hosting a monthly party, the AOD hours will be moved to 9:00 – 11:00am.

Acceptable Advisor-on-Duty advising includes:

• General questions
• Full-time Enrollment
• Employment
• Travel
• Dependents
• Change of major/program
• Co-op Approval (with Career Center Assignment form)
• 1-20/DS-2019 signature requests
• J-1 On-Campus Employment Authorization

Acceptable Information to Drop-Off without an appointment or Advisor-on-Duty session includes:

• Letter requests – enrollment, expense, invitation, Social Security,
• I-20/DS-2019 signature requests
• Graduate Petitions
• 1-20/DS-2019 extension of program (with supporting documents)
• RCL Forms
• Transfer Forms
• Addition of dependent to I-20/DS-2019 (with supporting documents)

Make an appointment for the following:

• F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT) Processing
• CPT Approval (with supporting documents)
• Change of Status to F-1, F-2, J-1, J-2
• Reinstatement of F-1 Status
• J-1 Academic Training
• J-2 Work Authorization
