Confucius Institute Welcomes 2011: The Year of the Rabbit

The Confucius Institute new year’s party featured student performances in martial arts, musical and dance interludes, Chinese storytelling, and a Chinese dress show.  Over three hundred students, staff and community members attended the event where students studying Chinese were able to demonstrate their language and artistic talents. The event brought together Chinese and American students who study Chinese to network and dicuss both cultures. Co-sponsors of the event included the USF Chinese Culture and Language Club, the USF Chinese Students & Scholars Association, and INTO USF.

K-12 Chinese Conference to be hosted by the University of South Florida on February 18, 2011

The K-12 Chinese Conference is the first of its kind in Florida. Hosted by the University of South Florida, the conference aims to assist school administrators in developing and sustaining Chinese language and cultural programs, as well as providing professional development to current and future Chinese language teachers. The program includes General Sessions in the morning (with nationally known speakers), and two breakout sessions in the afternoon. (Read More…)
