2012 Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival

Moon Festival 2012The Confucius Institute proudly hosted the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on Sunday, September 30th at the Marshall Student Center Ballroom. The event was a huge success, with over 500 attendees coming to enjoy moon cakes, tea, and 14 unique performances by several dozens of USF students and local artists. (Read More…)

September 2012 Confucius Institute Lectures

This month, Confucius Institute Director, Kun Shi, delivered two lectures. Shi gave an informative presentation at the Confucius Institute Lecture on September 20 to the USF communityth, as well as a keynote lecture at the 2012 Southeast Chinese Language Association (SECLA) Annual Conference held on September 15th at Middle Tennessee State University. CI Completes Summer Class on ‘Religious Beliefs in China’

With support from the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) and University Village staff, the CI has completed a four-week class on “Religious Beliefs in China” for senior citizens in the Tampa Bay area. This is the third time we have offered an OLLI class (taught by CI Director Kun Shi) and enrollment for this class reached an all-time high of 52. (Read More…)
