Nanchang University Performance Troupe visits Tampa in Mid-April

Sponsored by the Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters, the Nanchang University Performance Troupe came to perform for the USF audience and Tampa Bay community members on April 13 and for Clearwater High School the next day. Dr. Roger Brindley, Associate Vice President of USF World welcomed Vice President Huang Yun of Nanchang University and his performance troupe. USF Confucius Institute Hosts the First Florida K-12 Chinese Conference

On February 18, 2011, nearly one hundred school administrators and Chinese language teachers from across Florida attended the first statewide conference on K-12 Chinese. Confucius Institute Opening Ceremony

The USF Confucius Institute Opening Ceremony was held Sunday, March 2 2008. International Affairs hosted a delegation from Nankai University, the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Houston, and an official from the Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C. Over 200 students, faculty, staff and members of the Tampa community came to the opening dinner. USF is the first university in Florida and the first major public research university in the Southeastern United States to establish a Confucius Institute. View Gallery>>
