Genshaft/Greenbaum Passport Scholars Fund – A University Beat Report
March 8, 2011

Following the announcement of the new Genshaft/Greenbaum Passport Scholars Fund, an endowment of $1 million that will financially support USF students interested in studying abroad, WUSF’s University Beat host Mark Schreiner took the story on air with a special report.

“There was a bumper sticker I once saw that said a mind is like a parachute; it doesn’t work if it’s not open. And I think when you travel internationally, it opens your mind,” said President Genshaft on the importance of establishing the Fund.

Commenting on the impact that this new development can have on USF students who want to study abroad, USF Education Abroad director Amanda Maurer says that reducing the financial burden of studying abroad can go a long way in making sure that students at USF get the life-changing experience they deserve to have.
