USF Ranks 11th in Peace Corps’ Southeast Region Top Schools List

With 347 alumni having served in the Peace Corps since its inception in 1961, and 20 currently overseas, University of South Florida is ranked No. 11 on Peace Corps’ Southeast Region ranking of Top Twenty-Five Colleges and Universities producing Peace Corps Volunteers. The list ranks 250 undergraduate schools throughout the six state region, including Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
USF also ranks 5th among all schools in Florida. The top ranked regional school is the University of Florida with 97currently serving.
The Peace Corps will be visiting USF on Thursday March 31st & Monday April 4th, to dialog with juniors and seniors about our current opportunities to live, learn, and work overseas.
What: Attendees will learn what Peace Corps’ current opportunities are and how to make their applications competitive. Learn what it’s like to live and work in an overseas community for 2 years.
Why: Peace Corps provides graduates with an excellent opportunity to positively serve America by serving others in 77 different countries. Peace Corps helps students jumpstart their career: in 2010, Peace Corps was formally ranked by undergraduate college students as the #1 Most Ethical Employer to meet their career goals (Universum Data).
New: Throughout 2011, Peace Corps is commemorating 50 years of promoting peace and friendship around the world. The session will include a new 50th Anniversary DVD presentation and time for Q and A.
