Two USF Students Receive the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship to Study Abroad
June 1, 2010
USF students Sam Van Ginhoven and Vadricka Etienne are this year’s fall recipients of the Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship. Majoring in International Studies, Sam will travel to Japan where he will take courses at Kansai Gadai University. “I feel really grateful and I can use it to help me fund my education overseas. I’ve worked really hard toward going.” Studying Japanese since high school, Sam has had a growing interest in Japan.
Vadricka Etienne, is majoring in Communications and will be using her scholarship to visit the Dominican Republic in the fall. “It still hasn’t hit me how important this,” says Vadricka. “But now I actually have the financial backing to go. I would’ve gone even without the scholarship, but this definitely makes it more affordable.” Read more about the Gilman Scholarship>>
