January 9, 2012
University of South Florida’s School of Information partnered with Shih Hsin University (Taiwan) and Sun Yat-sen University (China) to organize the 3rd International Conference on Information Capital, Property, and Ethics (ICPE). Held in December, the conference titled “Information Policies and Ethics of Information Rights” included topics on competitive intelligence, intellectual property issues in cloud computing, cyberspace security laws, and information policy diffusion.
Participants were delegates from the U.S., Taiwan, Hong Kong, and major universities across mainland China. Dr. John N. Gathegi, professor in the School of Information, represented USF and was a conference organizer. The conference dedicated an afternoon to a “Symposium on Schools/Department Cooperation” where representatives held discussions on various topics, including future faculty and student exchanges, as well as research collaborations between faculty.
The 4th ICPE conference will be held in 2013 at Tsurumi University in Yokohama, Japan.
