Enlightening Music from the Nanjing University Orchestra
February 5, 2012

Nanjing University (NJU) in central China is well known for its academic excellence, US-China studies (Hopkins-Nanjing Center) center, and performing arts.  Sponsored by Hanban/Confucius Institute Headquarters and hosted by the USF-CI, NJU Traditional Instruments Orchestra showcased a wonderful concert for about 500 attendants in the Oval Theater, all on the night of the Super Bowl. Everyone was immensely impressed by the musicians, all of whom are undergraduate and graduate students majoring in subjects other than music and the arts. The audience was thrilled by the talents of the concert MCs: Victor Florez from USF and LIU Jing from NJU.

USF Vice President of Communications Michael Hoad and CI Director Kun Shi expressed gratitude to the NJU Orchestra led by Professors CHENG Aiming, LU Haoxue and ZHANG Jinbo.
