Lecture Demonstration on Bharat Natyam
In a deeply felt, slow-paced rendering of the votive poem by M. Dikshitar celebrating Meenakshi, the green- hued nature goddess of Madurai, Johar lyrically unfolds and celebrates the feminine principle, theatrically illustrating the magical attributes of the Devi and evoking her mystique and eroticism through the use of meditative and ritualized movement.
