USF-CI Offered Another 6-Week Class for OLLI Members
May 21, 2012
The Confucius Institute works with the USF Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) again to offer another 6-week class to the senior citizens during April 3 through May 8. The course is titled “China: Past and Present,” and taught by the CI director Kun Shi. With 39 senior signed up, the class had the largest enrollment of all OLLI classes during the semester. The course was designed to cover both the Chinese past civilization and contemporary society and issues. The participants enjoyed the presentations and video clips, and fully engaged in lively discussions. The OLLI coordinator Joseph McAuliffe highly praised the course with positive feedback from the participants.
With OLLI’s help, Kun Shi will teach a 4-week course titled “Chinese Religious Beliefs” during this summer, July 31 through August 14 (Tuesday afternoons). For more information about the course, visit http://www.conted.usf.edu/seniors.
