Summer Volunteer Opportunities through Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE)
September 13, 2012
Growth International Volunteer Excursions (GIVE) will be holding information sessions about volunteer opportunities in Tanzania, Zanzibar, Nicaragua and the Caribbean for summer 2013. These unique two-week programs focus on creating opportunities for community development and personal growth through education, building infrastructure, and environmental conservation projects. GIVE’s initiatives include tutoring and teaching English to children and implementing fresh water projects to provide clean water.
Students will have the opportunity to work directly with organizations focused on important conservation projects to protect the hawksbill and leatherback sea turtle population as well as the local caiman and crocodile populations. Intermixed with volunteer work, students will visit active volcanoes in Nicaragua, go on safaris and explore caves in Africa, surf, scuba dive, spearfish, and swim with sea turtles and sharks, or even climb Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest peak in Africa!
For more information about these rewarding experiences, please visit the Marshall Student Center, Room 3705 (The Manatee Room) on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at 12:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00 or 6:00 PM. You can also email GIVE representative, Eleanor Burnett at email@example.com.
