September 30, 2012

Moon Festival 2012The Confucius Institute proudly hosted the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival on Sunday, September 30th at the Marshall Student Center Ballroom. The event was a huge success, with over 500 attendees coming to enjoy moon cakes, tea, and 14 unique performances by several dozens of USF students and local artists.

The event was MCed by USF students, Victor Florez and Shuhan Liu, who introduced Provost Wilcox for welcoming remarks. Following Dr. Wilcox, several speakers took the stage, including Jie Zhang of Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA), Yingyi Xu of Chinese-American Association of Tampa Bay (CAAT), Kelly Bertram of the Chinese Culture and Language Club (CCLC), Dylan Parmenter of INTO USF, and Kun Shi of the Confucius Institute.

The Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival could not have been such a success without the coordination of the co-sponsors of this event, CSSA, CAAT, CCLC, and INTO USF.
