Thora Collymore Wins Quiet Quality Award for June 2013
May 28, 2013
“As one of the shining stars at USF, Thora deserves recognition for her outstanding work both in furthering the goals of our office and providing a path to professionalism for our student workers” says Marcia Taylor, Director of International Services, about her employee Thora Collymore. Thora is the recipient of the Quiet Quality Award for the month of June and was presented with a certificate, pen and USF cup.
Thora started working at USF ten years ago and currently is an Immigration Specialist in the International Services department. Thora is responsible for inputting a large amount of data for each international student and manages several data audit reports for the department. She provides aid to students who have trouble assimilating into USF and advises incoming international transfer students on immigration regulations.
The number of international students has grown tremendously and Thora has been able to adjust to the demands and make the process easier for the students she serves. Additionally she leads a successful team of student workers and is a mentor to those she oversees. By treating everyone as a professional, hosting monthly training and team meetings, and continuously refining their job descriptions, Thora has built an efficient team of motivated workers.
“I am honored and very appreciative of the recognition and will remain humble, motivated and dedicated. I feel inspired” says Thora. On June 14th, Thora will celebrate her success at the Quiet Quality Award luncheon.
The Quiet Quality awards were created to give students, administration, faculty and staff the opportunity to recognize USF employees that exemplify an excellent work ethic. Each employee must be nominated by a USF student, faculty or staff member.
