USF Students Present at the 4th Annual Indian Student Parliament
January 28, 2014
This January a select group of USF students received the opportunity to travel to India and partake in the 4th annual Indian Student Parliament. This countrywide event hosted by MAEER’s Maharashtra Institute of Technology, School of Government (MIT-SOG) invites more than 10,000 young leaders from over 400 universities around India to participate in the parliament.
Students spent three days participating in press conferences, attending thematic sessions, presenting in front of thousands of delegates, and attending workshops highlighting collaborative research. Participants were also given the opportunity to attend cultural excursions throughout India such as personal concerts held in their honor showcasing traditional Indian dances and music.
USF World’s Dr. Kiki Caruson hopes to make this an annual event for USF students interested in studying India’s parliamentary system.
